A Journey to Gibralfaro Castle in Malaga

Gibralfaro Castle Malaga

A trip to Gibralfaro Castle, or in Spanish Castillo de Gibralfaro. If you are in Malaga take a few hours there and just enjoy the view over the city.

Once upon a time in Malaga there stood a castle on a really high hill. This castle is known as Gibralfaro Castle or “Castillo de Gibralfaro” and has been watching over the city for hundreds of years. It’s not just any castle but also a special one filled with stories of knights, battles, and history.

You need to check it out when visiting Malaga!

Long ago around the 14th century people built this castle to protect the city from enemies. It was a place where soldiers could look out far across the land and sea making sure everyone in Malaga was safe from pirates and invaders. Imagine being a guard back then standing on the castle walls watching over the sea and the city below.

What a view!

Our trip to Castillo de Gibralfaro was like stepping into a storybook. Walking up the hill to reach the castle felt like a little adventure. The view just got better and better.

When we reached the top it was like we were on top of the world! The view from up there was magical. We could see the whole city of Malaga with its roofs, winding streets and the blue sea stretching out to the horizon. It was so beautiful it made us feel like we were looking at a giant painting. Walking around the castle, we touched the old stones and imagined all the history they had seen.

The walls and towers of Gibralfaro Castle have been standing for so many years but is still in very good condition.

We think Gibralfaro Castle is a very special place because it’s not just about the stunning view. It’s about feeling connected to the past and imagining all the people who have stood where we stood. It’s a place where you can see how big and wonderful the world is, and how we’re all a part of a big, ongoing story.

So, if you ever visit Malaga, don’t forget to take a trip up to Gibralfaro Castle. It’s a place where history, adventure and the most amazing views of the city come together. You’ll feel like you’re part of something much bigger than just a day out – it’s an experience well worth the hike.

If you can’t walk, it’s also possible to go by car or taxi up.
