Marbella is looking for new formulas to attract tourists. One of the plans is to become a important congress hosting city. Marbella town hall states that this could be one very important step to decrease the impact of seasonality on local business.
This week a group of congress sector professionals are having a meeting in Marbella at the tourism forum organized by Meet and Talk forum. They are exchanging information and plans and promoting the location Marbella as a congress location.
Marbella has all the conditions that are necessary for organizing large congresses. The winter season is very mild and Marbella has the largest Congress Palace on the western Costa del Sol. Next to that Marbella has many hotels, especially 5 and 4 star facilities. Right now some hotels are actually organizing there winter season around large groups and events. Town spokesmen think that the location Marbella could benefit from this way of doing business off season.
