The German College (Deutsche Schule) Hoffmann is located in the mountains behind Elviria in the La Mairena area. It is a private, independent college liaised with the German state. In 2008 it was the first international german college to recieve the award German college abroad with excellent quality. The college is recognised by the Spanish and German governments and has more than 50 teachers of whom 7 Spanish.
The school was founded in 1898 then back in the city of Malaga by the consul of Germany back then. The school has around 700 students of which most are German or Spanish. Students receive bilingual classes and will study french and English as well so they should be able to at least speak four languages when graduating.
